Moët in Paris by Allénos, an ephemeral spotlight

Moët in Paris by Allénos, an ephemeral spotlight

Christian Marienval | 6/4/24, 2:25 PM

A pedestrian passageway and courtyard, a large tree-lined terrace, a restaurant on the first floor and a bar on the second floor to enjoy a drink, watch the Olympic events on a giant screen... La maison champenoise is settling in for the summer in Paris, in the heart of the 7ᵉ arrondissement.

The Moët & Chandon champagne house has teamed up with chef Yannick Alléno to create an ephemeral venue in place of the Burger Père et Fils restaurant in the heart of Beaupassage, which the chef opened with his son Antoine in 2021. Both a restaurant and a bar, it opened its doors on June 1 for approximately three months. Approximately, because it will close on the day of the declaration of the end of the Champagne harvest, in early autumn.

Stylist and couturier Charles de Vimorin designed the lively, colorful and floral decor. Graffiti, screen-printed plates, printed cushions, red, black, yellow, a dash of blue... Here, for those with an alert eye: the imperial crown, emblem of the house, switched and repainted. As usual, the designer was able to inject just the right amount of humor into a place that could have seemed a little too rigid. As for the chef (5 toques), he has imagined a menu in keeping with the Moët & Chandon bottles: simple dishes, but technical enough to give the impression of a gastro touch, and accessible enough to satisfy the Parisians and tourists who will be invading Paris this summer. Antoine's burger (who passed away in May 2022) will be featured. As for the wine list, it will exclusively feature the company's own champagnes, as well as wines and spirits from other LVMH properties.)

The aim is not only to promote the company's wines, but also to create a venue that is as unifying as it is festive, with guest DJs and a program of surprises. Don't miss the aperitif at 5:43 p.m. sharp (the house was founded in 1743).
