"I simply do my job." Don't ask Martine Decoret why she's on the list of four nominees for the Gault&Millau trophy for front-of-house management - she's surprised herself, so much so that she works naturally and diligently, without waiting for the spotlight or the glitter .

A family at the service of gastronomy

Today, the Decoret family is united in the family business around Martine and Jacques. Alexis (for the past five years) and Antoine (for the past year) have joined their parents to help the "Maison Decoret" grow and evolve .

"We've always done everything together." Both originally from Lapalisse, in the Allier region, Martine and Jacques Decoret met at the same Abel Boisselier school, now called Valéry Larbaud, in Vichy, and have never left each other. Setting up their first restaurant near the station at the age of 30, they waited ten years to realize their dream, with this beautiful Second Empire chalet facing the Parc des Sources. "We thought we'd only stay six years, but it was more complicated than we expected before we could move, and we visited a lot of places before finding what really suited us. "

A path dedicated to hospitality and excellence

For Martine Decoret, work is not limited to welcoming and serving Jacques' beautiful creations. "I lost my mother when I was 7, I was raised by my father, and I was used to doing everything around the house. The two of us manage everything, but I'm interested in everything, I taste the dishes and sauces blind, I take care of the sommelier as well as the reception, and I even pick the herbs in the garden! "
