Pierre-Sang BOYER
Chef : 2 restaurants A finalist on "Top Chef" in 2011, Korean-born chef Pierre Sang Boyer now heads three restaurants in Paris, and works with Louis Vuitton and Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet.Adopted at the age of 7, Pierre Sang Boyer spent his childhood in Lantriac, Haute-Loire. "Theidea of cooking came to me because I grew up in the countryside. I love nature, fishing, picking mushrooms..." He then began his training with a CAP and an internship with Carlos Grootaert, at Le Pré Bossu, in Moudeyres. "It was a great place to work. That experience still helps me today." He continued his studies with a BEP, a bac pro and a BTS, then landed his first job at the Club Gascon, in London, in 2003. A few months later, he moved to the restaurant at the Lyon Opera, working alongside Philippe Chavent and Nicolas Le Bec.
At the age of 24, he decided to return to his native South Korea to work in a French restaurant in Seoul. He stayed only four months, just long enough to rediscover the flavors of his youth. One day, his former boss at Club Gascon called him back and offered him a job in London. "Those were my best years. Working with Pascal Aussignac and Vincent Labeyrie, Thierry Beyris, watching my children grow up... "
In 2011, his participation in "Top Chef" marked the start of a new adventure. Unknowingly entered by his wife and a friend, he made it all the way to the final of the TV competition, thanks in no small part to the help of his mentor, Christian Constant, Guy Legay and Ghislaine Arabian. "They accompanied me like fathers and coaches. They were able to reassure my parents and family by showing them that life as an entrepreneur was made for me. "
And so, in 2012, he opened his first restaurant in Paris, Pierre Sang in Oberkampf, followed in 2014 by his second establishment, Pierre Sang on Gambey. Since then, the chef has developed a gourmet table, Pierre Sang Signature, and an ephemeral restaurant in Seoul, in collaboration with the Louis Vuitton brand. He also offers his creations at Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet.
