Gault&Millau's review
2025
92/100
The Côte d'Azur in June must have smelled like this in the days of the coquettes of the Belle Époque. Between the heady scent of mimosa, the tangy sweetness of Menton lemons and notes of seaside flowers, with a touch of Russian leather and dried fruit. Energetic and taut, the material is nothing but fresh and cheerful. Acidic citrus notes return, but as if calmed. The dynamism carries through to a finish that is full-bodied (tobacco, coffee), mineral and saline. A very fine vintage.

This small 6.5-hectare estate on the Côte des Bar was founded in 2000 by Maxime Binon. He made his first wine at the age of 24, in 2003. His sister Cyrielle joined him in 2012. On Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils, the viticulture is integrated (Terra Vitis and HVE labels), with no chemical weeding. Pinot noir dominates, accounting for 70%. A solera cuvée has been produced since 2004 from successive harvests of pinot noir.
