Yann Chave
The history of the estate began in the 1970s with Yann's parents, who had 4 hectares at their disposal - 1 hectare for vines, the rest for arboriculture. The estate expanded over the years, while maintaining this mixed farming system. They delivered their first harvests to the wine merchants, then vinified their first cuvées from 1973, and joined the Cave Coopérative de Tain. In 1979, Nicole and Bernard Chave decided to set up their own winery. In 1996, Yann, then aged 26, joined them and began to work the soil in depth. After suffering from insecticide poisoning, he turned to organic farming in the early 2000s. The estate obtained its certification in 2007. Located in the heart of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, it now covers 20 hectares, including 1.2 hectares on the famous Hermitage hill. Yann's sister, Natacha Chave, runs the Aléofane domaine.
