Chef's Restaurant A few meters from the Halles Paul Bocuse, Laurent Rigal likes to explain that it was Monsieur Paul who placed him here. No doubt seduced by the sincerity and creativity of this young up-and-coming chef, Bocuse was not mistaken. It's a lovely story and a fine address that has its loyal customers, especially in the evenings and at weekends. At lunchtime, it's simpler, with the occasional hint of weariness. After a cryotherapy session as an appetizer, the rest of the menu is happily warmer and more promising. The chef serves a declension of girolle mushrooms, followed by a masterful roasted monkfish tail with Madagascar pepper matelote sauce, and a beautiful, creamy Bresse poultry stuffed with Peruvian coffee. The desserts are interesting and creative. An all-chocolate madeleine, with a lovely cream infused with lemon leaves, or this citrus and pumpkin duo, as colorful as it is tasty, with these little chocolate shortbreads. Just before you leave, some very amusing little pavlovas, with pieces of candied pineapple, will keep you smiling all afternoon. The wine list is attractive and well written, as is the selection of wines by the glass.
