Chef Benjamin Delpierre of the La Liégeoise restaurant at the Atlantic Hotel in Wimereux was named Gault&Millau d'Or at the Gault&Millau Tour Hauts-de-France 2024.

"It's very symbolic!" Chef Benjamin Delpierre, head of La Liégeoise, was crowned Gault&Millau d'Or 2024 for the Hauts-de-France region at the Gault&Millau Tour on Monday October 14, held at the Orangerie de la Baie in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage. Since returning to the family business in 2007, he has reinvented his establishment, offering cuisine that is both refined and accessible.

"Our business is changing, and we have to adapt to it," says Benjamin Delpierre. With a new offering that combines brasserie and gastronomy, he aimed to meet the varied expectations of customers looking for more diversity. Trained by the best, Benjamin is committed to maintaining the quality that has always been part of the house. "My father took over the Atlantic in 1995. My wife and I arrived in 2007, and since then we've continued to develop the house," explains the chef. This evolution promises to establish La Liégeoise as an essential destination for lovers of fine cuisine on the Opal Coast.

A timely title

"The guides are there to talk about us. When you're spotted and recognized, it's always nice!" confided the chef, who insists that he works first and foremost for his customers. Being recognized as Gault&Millau d'Or in 2024 is also appreciated, as it's a year of change. Soon, "we're going to open a new concept that's going to change a bit", says the chef."This title is the icing on the cake to close this chapter and move on to what's next." The chef still promises"good cooking, care in selecting the products, working on the recipes. We want something a little more casual!"
