Here's where to dine for an exceptional July 14, 2024

The arrival of summer also signals the imminent arrival of Bastille Day, and this very special day can be the perfect opportunity to enjoy an exceptional epicurean evening with fireworks.

For some months now, the Seine has been the focus of attention. Indeed, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games is scheduled to take place on the river, with no fewer than 160 boats. But for many years now, some barges have been offering the experience of dining while sailing. Alain Ducasse, a member of the Gault&Millau Academy with his Louis XV restaurant at the Hôtel de Paris in Monaco, also has a barge restaurant. With Ducasse sur Seine, the chef offers a gastronomic cruise experience for lunch and dinner around the most beautiful monuments in Paris.

An exceptional menu for Bastille Day

Boat chef Jean-Philippe Berens and his team have devised a special menu for July 14, 2024. The six-course menu will include blue lobster au naturel, tomato confit and basil, coral cooking juices; marinated sea bream, apricot and cumin, kristal caviar; and a dessert based on chocolate from the Manufacture Parisienne, buckwheat praline and hazelnut ice cream.

It's an opportunity to discover the Louvre Museum, the Île Saint-Louis with its Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, and the Pont Alexandre III from an unknown angle. The cruise will offer guests a unique view of the fireworks display taking place at 11 p.m. in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower.

If you'd like to take part in this evening aboard the 100% electric Ducasse sur Seine boat, you can book on reservation.ducasse-seine.com. Please note that the setting and menu come at a price: 540 euros excluding drinks and 700 euros including food and wine pairing for the evening. Boarding is scheduled at the Port de Solférino in Paris's 7ᵉ arrondissement at 8 pm. The cruise is scheduled to start at around 8:30 pm and finish at around midnight.
