Chef's Restaurant With such a view of the long beach and the spectacle of the tides, it could be tempting to take the easy way out! But no! The great Christian Le Squer (Le Cinq in Paris, five toques) watches over this charming hotel restaurant from a distance. The pretty, bright and contemporary dining room, extended by a small terrace, is a very popular address. While the weekday lunch menu is already well worth a look, the other offerings are damn tempting. The cuisine here is remarkably fresh, joyful and delicious. Witness the unctuous velouté of Breton artichokes and egg yolks confit with Jura wine, the superb line-caught cod cooked to perfection and accompanied by a potato crush enhanced by a subtle truffle emulsion, the braised veal cheek, herb jus and macaroni gratin, or the chocolate mousse of addictive smoothness and depth. The wine list is relatively short, but pertinent: muscadet Luneau-Papin, sancerre Pinard, savennières from domaine Aux Moines, puligny-montrachet from Jacques Carillon, saint-véran from Jacques Saumaize, riesling from Valentin Zusslin... Efficient, friendly service.
