Le Prieuré: Emmanuel Renaut's new Megève restaurant

Le Prieuré: Emmanuel Renaut's new Megève restaurant

Mathilde Bourge | 9/12/24, 9:33 AM

Emmanuel Renaut has just taken over Le Prieuré, Megève's iconic restaurant. The chef tells us more about what he offers and what you can taste.

Kristine and Emmanuel Renaut are further enhancing Megève's culinary profile. The couple, who run the Flocons de Sel restaurant (5 toques), have just acquired the Le Prieuré establishment in the heart of the village. The chef tells us more about this new adventure.

Traditional cuisine

Le Prieuré is an emblematic Megève address, run by the Frémondière family for three generations. With its warm ambience, exposed beams and open fire, it's a bistro with a mountain spirit that Emmanuel and Kristine Renaut want to keep alive.

In the kitchen, the chef aims to instill "the same way of working as at Flocons de Sel (5 toques) and Flocons Village (1 toque). It's where we find our DNA, but with accessible local cuisine", explains Emmanuel Renaut. " The idea is to offer beautiful dishes, using regional products such as Reblochon AOP, mushrooms and wild mountain herbs, as well as lake fish", he explains.

Already unmissable dishes include "consommé de légumes, œuf mi-cuit avec une crème de cèpes, éIn short, everything that is unfortunately no longer served in modern brasseries", laments the Megevan chef.

Eventually, the chef would like to transform the Flocons Village restaurant to offer wine and cheese dishes such as fondue, while Le Prieuré will focus entirely on brasserie specialties. The restaurant, which opened in June 2024, welcomes customers year-round from Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 11pm.
